1.General Descriptionn

2. Applications

MC has strong solubility and widely used for organic solvent. It is used to produce demolder, foaming agent, cleaning agent , also used for fumigation, degrease and refrigeration etc. Dichloromthane is also used in the manufacture of photographic film and polycarbonate.

4.Acute health effects

Inhalation: May be harmful if inhaled. May cause respiratory tract irritation. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

Ingestion: Accidental ingestion of the material may be harmful.

Skin: The material may cause severe inflammation of the skin either following direct contact or after a delay of some time. Repeated exposure can cause contact dermatitis which is characterised by redness, swelling and blistering.



Eyes: There is some evidence that material may produce eye irritation in some persons and produce eye damage 24 hours or more after instillation. Moderate inflammation may be expected with redness; conjunctivitis may occur with prolonged exposure.
Chronic health effects: There has been concern that this material can cause cancer or mutations, but there is not enough data to make an assessment. Substance accumulation, in the human body, may occur and may cause some concern following repeated or long-term occupational exposure. There is some evidence from animal testing that exposure to this material may result in reduced fertility.

Numerical measures of toxicity(such as acute toxicity estimates): LC50 Inhalation - rat -52000 mg/m3, LD50 Intraperitoneal - rat - > 916 mg/kg.


5. Packing and Storage:

Packed in tank trailers and galvanized iron drums or iron drums(250kg/270kg per drum). Store in cool and ventilated warehouses where the temperature is lower than 30ºC and the relative humidity is lower than 80%. Store separately from alkali metals and food chemicals.
